Sweden’s TTS Ships Equipment, Gothenburg, has won an order for the design and supply of Cargo Access Equipment (CAE) from South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) involving a series of four 6,500 units PCTCs building for EUKOR
These vessels are sister ships to eight vessels currently on order for Wilh Wilhelmsen (Norway), Wallenius Lines (Sweden) and EUKOR (South Korea), all 12 vessels in the series having TTS’ CAE as part of the main design. These latest four vessels will be built at HHI’s Hyundai Samho Shipyard - Hull Nos. S329-332.
The cargo access equipment to be supplied by TTS comprises quarter and side ramps, internal ramps and covers, including necessary hydraulic and electric systems. The CAE for each vessel has a gross weight of about 615 tonnes. TTS’ contract includes delivery of design, vital parts and supervision of installation.
The TTS equipment is scheduled to be completed by January, February, March and May 2008, respectively. The vessels are due for delivery to the owner by September, October, November 2008 and January 2009, respectively.
Currently TTS cargo access equipment has been installed onboard a total of about 60 vehicle carriers (all delivered), and more than 40 vessels either under construction or on order, with further vessels expected to be added to the growing list of the world’s leading supplier of such equipment.
TTS Ships Equipment is part of the TTS Dry Cargo Handling Division, which is headquartered in Gothenburg. This is one of four divisions operated by Norway’s TTS Marine ASA, Bergen, which is quoted on the Oslo Bors.
